Judges: This Great Salvation - Gideon: God's Might on Behalf of his People
Jul 6, 2025
Wes Swarthout teaches through Judges 7. In this chapter, God significantly reduces Gideon’s army from 32,000 to just 300 men to show that victory comes by his power, and so Israel couldn’t say: “My own hand has saved me.” During the night, Gideon overhears a Midianite soldier talking about a dream about a loaf of barley bread tumbling into their camp and destroying a tent—a prophetic sign interpreted as Gideon’s coming victory. Encouraged by this, Gideon and his 300 men attack the Midianite camp with trumpets, torches, and jars, causing panic and confusion; bringing about a miraculous triumph over the enemy.
